This recipe consists of spicy whole wheat uncooked roti pieces simmered into dal and cooked to perfection. Dal dhokli has a mild sweet and spicy flavor. Steps to make Dal Dhokli:
  1. Take both dals clean wash thoroughly,soakin water for 1hr.
  2. Then cook the dal in pressure cooker.
  3. After one whistle reduce the flame cook for 2-3 more whistle.
  4. After 3whistle turn off the flame.
  5. Take a bowl add wheat flour,Ajwain,besan,ghee and salt.
  6. Add little water at a time and knead a soft dough for making chapatti.
  7. Cover the dough and keep it aside 10-25 minutes to rest.
  8. After 15 mins roll the dough into one big dough ball for making Dhokli.
  9. Now dust the dough ball with some dry flour.
  10. Roll the dough thinly same as make chapatti.
  11. Roll the dough ball and cut the dhoklis into it.
  12. Take 2cups of water in a pan.
  13. When water starta to boil place the dhoklis into it.
  14. Now boil the dhoklis for 10-15 minutes on high flame unti it starts floating on the surface.
  15. Stir the dhoklis at regular intervals.
  16. Now prepare the tadka for dal
  17. Place a pan over the flame andadd 3tbsp ghee over it
  18. Add cumin seeds,dry red chilli,hing, turmeric, curry leaves,red chilli powder, chopped onion, garlic and coriander powder and chopped tomatoes.
  19. Saute the masala until oil starts separating from it.
  20. Now add masala on dal and salt as per taste.
  21. Now add dhoklis into the dal.
  22. Cook the dal for 7-8minutes on low flame so that the dhoklis absorbs all the spices.
  23. After8 minutes turn off the flame.
  24. Dal dhokli is ready to serve.
  25. Garnish with some ghee and chopped fresh coriander leaves.
